I find it ironic that I REALLY don't like Mums and Carnations but I like Dandelions... seeing as they look somewhat similar and the first two are actually flowers and the last is actually a weed. I'll blame it on the principle of the matter: Dandelions are always free... that and when I was little a I baby sat for a Koran family, it is traditional to add Dandelions to most Koran salads. Whatever the reason... they are friendly!
A weed is but an unloved flower.

My goal with every edit is to just make the subject pop. I actually prefer for my work to stand on it's own, but when it is needed: it is about what I am shooting and how I am shooting it not about the edit. This particular edit needed the white balance messed with, it looked better a bit warmer (color balance), a bit of high light and a pull down of the shadows (again all done with Picasa).
I love dandelions too. Pretty shot.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots!!!
ReplyDeleteI love dandelions too! Great edit, you really made it pop! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI think that edits all depend on the person. We each have a different eye and style that we like. Some lean towards black and whites, others like me, like things on the cooler side... and a bit over exposed. It's all about preference. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote.. as a child my Mother had us dig us any dandelions in our yard. I always wondered why. I see beauty in each one.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pleasing photograph, the pop of colour really makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteRachel, the original photograph is just beautiful, but I after your edit?
ReplyDeleteTruly it is magical. Really so very beautiful, and you have definitely succeeded in making the subject "pop."
